Program Description
This program provides students with the necessary foundation and practical experiences to pursue an entry-level position within the automotive industry. Entry-level positions may be found in automotive dealerships, automotive franchises, independent service repair shops, auto parts stores, or through self-employment. Students will learn the technical skills essential to employment in the field of maintenance technology, auto body care, chassis, diesel, and power train, leading to employment in service, maintenance, and areas of technological specialty, such as detailing, auto body paint and refinishing, as well as management occupations or self-employment. This program is NATEF (National Automotive Technician Education Foundation) division of ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certified.

Studens must visit an American Job Center to complete standard requirements for obtaining the WIOA grant and complete the FAFSA-Free Application for Federal Student Aid-prior to meeting with the WIOA Coordinator. For appointments, students can contact the WIOA Coordinator in the Student Services Office, located in the Main Building of the Harry S. Truman College campus, at 773-907-4391. Note: Some courses may carry an additional fee.
The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.
