Program Description
The Basic Certificate in Construction Masonry is designed to prepare students for employment in the residential and commercial masonry sector of the construction industry. Through theory, lectures and hands on work, students are trained in the skills needed to gain proficiency in brick, concrete, stonework, block and form work. With training on the proper use and maintenance of tools and job safety, completion of this certificate will prepare students for a career as an industry apprentice, journeyman mason, job site foreman, or contractor. 18 yrs of age and older interested in learning a construction skill or pursuing the construction industry for placement into a job. Submit online admissions application (applycredit.ccc.edu). Complete financial aid application (www.fafsa.ed.gov), complete placement test (math: my.ccc.edu), residency verification: as proof of residency, the student must bring a current State of Illinois Driver License or a State of Illinois State ID; meet with college advisor (my.ccc.edu); new student orientation (ccc.edu/orientation); obtain your student ID in room v-132, and purchase textbooks at CCC Online BookStore (ccc.edu/texbookx).
