Program Description
This degree provides child development theory and practice for students who intend to go straight to work as a teacher or teacher assistant in a public or private pre-school program, child-care center or nursery school. Graduates can also work as teacher aides or activities supervisors. The Olive-Harvey College Child Development Program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Gateways to Opportunity affiliated. The Child Development program focuses on the study of children from birth through age eight, by focusing on their physical, intellectual and emotional development.
