National Apprenticeship Week 2026 demonstrated Illinois' commitment to expanding apprenticeship and work-based learning with 80+ events, 140+ proclamations, and 35+ news articles. Governor Pritzker announced the launch of Chicago Moonshot, an initiative to accelerate apprenticeships and create clear pathways to in-demand tech careers. Apprentice Ambassadors lent their voices at events across the state, while Apprenticeship Illinois amplified the momentum through an expansive social media presence. The momentum is real. The Work-Based Learning & Apprenticeship Committee's Catalysts Initiative is open for nominations! This program celebrates excellence in work-based learning by recognizing standout individuals, teams, or projects making an impact in Illinois. Catalysts will be spotlighted at the WBLA Quarterly Meeting, on social media, and in the Illinois Workforce Innovation Board Quarterly Bulletin.
