Accountability: Harassment-free Work Environments
-ALERT-DHR will move to virtual/online training classes as a precaution against COVID-19. The health and safety of the public and our employees have made this decision necessary. To take advantage of our on-line platform, participants will need a computer and access to an internet connection. Moving forward, our team will contact you via email to ensure all participants receive an individualized link to join IDHR’s WebEx platform training session.
If you have questions or require any additional information, please feel free to contact our Training Unit at IDHR.Training@illinois.gov.
We appreciate your assistance and support.
When employers tolerate incivility or disrespectful behaviors that are demeaning, belittling, coarse or uncivil, it can create an environment ripe for illegal harassment. Education on civility, respect and inclusion can help create a workplace culture free of harassment.
This training will define and list examples of civility/incivility and discuss the impact of incivility on the work environment. Workplace harassment will be discussed, including examples of harassing behaviors in the workplace and employers’ liability for workplace harassment in Illinois. The training will explain the responsibilities of managers and employees in preventing, correcting and reporting harassment; and provide guidelines for establishing a civil, harassment-free work environment. This three-hour version has been revised and updated to include more activities to promote participant engagement.
