Parkland College HCCTP Orientation
The Highway Construction Careers Training Program (HCCTP) at Parkland College requires prospective students to attend a mandatory orientation to apply to be considered for the Program.
The Highway Construction Careers Training Program is a pre-apprenticeship designed to increase the participation of underrepresented groups on Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) construction projects. Training has been implemented to increase the number of women, and other under-represented populations working on IDOT highway construction projects. The training consists of an intensive 18-week or 14-week programs to learn the skills necessary for acceptance into registered apprenticeships of the highway construction trades and gives the opportunity for a career with high wage potential.
Candidate Requirements:
Valid Illinois driver's license
18 years or older
High school diploma or GED
Pass a reading and math assessment test at the 7th-grade level
Pass a drug test prior to acceptance and throughout the program
Interest in working in the construction trades
This is a FREE event. Training to those who qualify is at NO cost to the trainee. Sign up online and attend in person.
