Would you like to learn how to participate in the Highway Construction Careers Training Program at Parkland College? The application process starts with a free information session!
 

The Highway Construction Careers Training Program increases the number of women and other under-represented populations working on IDOT highway construction projects. The training consists of an intensive 18-week or 14-week program to learn the skills necessary for acceptance into registered apprenticeships of the highway construction trades. It allows a career with high wage potential.

Requirements:

  • Valid Illinois driver's license  
  • 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Pass a reading and math assessment test at the 7th-grade level
  • Pass a drug test before acceptance and throughout the program
  • Interest in working in the construction trades
