Attend an orientation for Parkland College Highway Construction Careers Training Program to apply. The Highway Construction Careers Training Program has been implemented to increase the number of women, and other under-represented populations working on IDOT highway construction projects. The training consists of an intensive 18-week or 14-week programs to learn the skills necessary for acceptance into registered apprenticeships of the highway construction trades and gives the opportunity for a career with high wage potential.  

Requirements:

Valid Illinois driver's license             

18 years or older            

High school diploma or GED

Pass a reading and math assessment test at the 7th grade level  

Pass a drug test prior to acceptance and throughout the program

Interest in working in the construction trades
