Would you like to learn how to participate in the Highway Construction Careers Training Program (HCCTP) at Parkland College? The application process starts with a free information orientation session!
The Highway Construction Careers Training Program is a pre-apprenticeship designed to increase the participation of underrepresented groups (including women) on Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) construction projects. The training consists of an intensive 18-week or 14-week programs to learn the skills necessary for acceptance into registered apprenticeships of the highway construction trades and gives the opportunity for a career with high wage potential. This orientation is mandatory to apply to be considered for the Program.
Requirements:
• Valid Illinois driver's license
• 18 years or older
• High school diploma or GED
• Pass a reading and math assessment test at the 7th-grade level
• Pass a drug test prior to acceptance and throughout the program
• Interest in working in the construction trades
