Purpose

This WIOA policy is issued to provide guidance to all training providers (including new providers and those previously provided transitional eligibility) and the Local Workforce Innovation Boards (LWIB) and local workforce innovation areas (LWIA) on the process for determining eligibility of providers and training programs. It is intended that this policy letter is interim until further guidance is received by USDOL and final changes are made to the Illinois Workforce Development System (IWDS)

November 16, 2016 -
  • Following the issuance of WIOA Notice -- 16-NOT-02 Demand Occupation Training List, many concerns were expressed regarding the number and titles of occupations that no longer qualified as in demand. After further consideration, and taking into account responses from the local workforce boards, training providers, and WIOA agency partners, it has been decided that this WIOA Notice is being rescinded and the list of demand occupations will revert back to that which existed prior to this issuance.  That list is contained in Attachment C - Demand Occupation Training List (DOTL) to this policy letter.
