    Illinois WIOA Summit

    WIOA Summit LogoThis week, October 24th and 25th, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, The Illinois Community College Board, Illinois Department of Employment Security; and the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services and other Core WIOA partners will be hosting the Illinois WIOA Summit 2017. From the WIOA Summit announcement: the objectives of the summit will be to provide training on transitioning from WIOA planning to implementation by accelerating the development of industry and business-driven strategies and services; deepening collaboration among workforce development, education, economic development, and other partners; and fostering the development of integrated, multi-partner service delivery.

    The Illinois workNet team will be at the Summit providing multiple sessions as well as providing an interactive, computer lab where you can explore Illinois workNet tools and resources. We hope to see you at the summit; check out our sessions which are listed below!

    Session: Illinois workNet Customer Support Center = Customer-Centered Tools

    Description: The Illinois workNet Customer Support Center is a set of tools used by customer-focused teams to guide and engage customers in exploring, planning, and training to help them meet their employment goals. The tools provided include a set of work readiness and support service assessments, career planning tools, a resume builder, a communication system, and much more.

    Session: Work Readiness Assessment Tools and the Illinois Essential Employability Skills Self-Assessment

    Description: Join this session to learn about new assessment tools developed to help your customers make smart, informed career choices. The resources presented in this session will include self-assessments for programs or individual; guides to exploring skills and interests; training and educational information on employability skills future employers will want; and tools to build skills on pre-employment skills like preparing a resume, preparing for an interview, searching for jobs, and finding work support services; and much more.

    Session: Outreach Tools at Your Fingertips

    Description: Take advantage of the no-cost outreach tools Illinois workNet has to offer! These tools, including the Illinois workNet Service Finder and Event Calendar, are ways to reach new customers and spread the word about services that you offer in a new way. In addition to the online tools, Illinois workNet provides an array of customizable, printable materials that you can use for outreach. Attend this session to learn about all the of the no-cost tools available to you.
