    Transitions Academy 2019

The Illinois Transition Academy conference will be held on August 7th and 8th in Effingham, Illinois. This event is designed to assist colleges and partnerships working on developing Bridge and ICAPS (Integrated Career and Academic Preparation System) programs by increasing awareness of the expanding partnership between Adult Education and Career and Technical Education as it relates to the IET/ICAPS models, Illinois Bridge programs, and Illinois Programs of Study.

In FY2020, the Transitions Academy will be revamped in order to meet Illinois' goals in expanding high-quality Integrated Career & Academic Preparation System (ICAPS)/Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs across the state. In order to participate, colleges and service providers must complete the Transitions Academy Registration.

Each college or service provider is required to bring a team inclusive of Adult Education administrators, Career and Technical Education Administrators, and/or training providers. Others may include those with programmatic decision-making responsibilities or those who will work closely with ICAPS programming (i.e. Academic Deans, Faculty, Instructors, Advisors, Local Workforce Board staff, Support Service staff, Financial Aid Administrators, Transition Specialist, etc.). Additionally, a self-assessment will be shared at a later date to be completed to inform the Academy agenda.

The Transitions Academy will be divided into three tracks:

    1. Develop
    2. Redevelop
    3. Scale/Refine

Registration and more information about the event can be found here.
