Observed annually during the month of October, LGBT History Month celebrates the achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender icons while reflecting on the history of gay rights and civil rights movements. Inspired by the 1987 March on Washington, National Coming Out Day is observed every year on October 11th to celebrate LGBTQ+ individuals for who they are and bring awareness of supporting everyone to live their truth. Learn more about this day and find helpful resources for Living Openly on the Human Rights Campaign website. 

The Back 2 Business (B2B) Grant Program is an effort to assist small businesses, hit hardest by the pandemic, with recovery grants. LGBTQIA+ owned businesses are encouraged to review and apply for this opportunity. The deadline is quickly approaching on October 13, 2021 at 11:59pm. Registration is now open for the Identity and Innovation Summit taking place on October 20, 2021. This free virtual summit focuses on recruitment, hiring, and retention of disabled workers who identify as transgender or non-gender conforming and/or people living with HIV. The all-day event will showcase local and national experts and stakeholders covering three key areas of policy, practice, and professional development as they relate to working with these underserved communities.
