    Employ Older Workers Week 2022

The week of September 18 – 24 is Employ Older Workers Week! Older workers are an important force that contribute to our workplaces and communities with their wisdom and experiences. In addition to Illinois workNet's article on how these workers can remain working and engaged, check out the resources below for additional information.

The Department on Aging's website also has information about what programs and services are available to older adults in Illinois. The Provider Profile Search will show you which Illinois Department on Aging providers and services are available near you. From the Community Care Program to legal assistance and more, be sure to visit their site for your needs.

The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is a "community service and work-based training program for older workers." This website is a great location for individuals 55 and older who are looking to improve their employability skills. By being part of this program, older workers gain access to additional resources, services, and training opportunities. Be sure to check out the Workforce GPS Resource Library for additional information concerning older workers.

This month recognizes older adults around the country and encourages them to participate in activities within their communities. The Activity Page on Older Americans Month's website offers several ideas of how these individuals can share their experiences with one another, younger generations, on social media, and much more. To read more about this month, check out the Older Americans Month's website.
