In honor of Veterans Day (11/11/22), the State of Illinois would like to thank all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. We appreciate your sacrifice to help protect us at home and abroad. Illinois, through the collaboration of networked partnerships, has many resources available to former and current Military Services Members (Active, Guard, and Reserve) as well as Military Spouses.
All veterans who have served at least one day on active duty, and received any discharge other than "dishonorable" receive priority of service under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). All recently discharged Veterans who have not obtained employment since separating from the Armed Forces are qualified for services under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. To learn more about qualifying for WIOA, contact your local Illinois workNet Center by using the Service Finder search.
Be sure to register for the upcoming informational workshops taking place next week on November 7th, 9th, and 10th. The Veterans Virtual Recruitment Series is open for registration for Veterans and their spouses. Informational workshops will occur with participating organizations. Afterward, attendees will have an opportunity to speak directly with panelists regarding employment readiness skills and how to apply for job openings throughout the State of Illinois from multiple employers currently hiring. To learn more about these sessions, visit the registration page.
